Deep Screams

WR: Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you write? Why?

G: Well I am 50 years old and happily married to my soul mate Charlotte. I have 3 children and four step children. I am also the proudest Grandpa Fuzzy of four beautiful little granddaughters. I am a multi-genre writer that writes whatever comes to mind, but mainly science fiction. I write as a therapeutic way to combat my severe Bipolar disorder. It allows my brain to escape and be in places that I have never been before.

WR: If you could be any one of your characters, who would you choose?

G: Well I would be Pothys from Dragon’s Bow. A fearless but loving Centaur that is dedicated and loyal fighter that would give his life to save another.

WR: What is your creative process like? Do you need music to write? Silence?

G: My writing is usually done at 5 – 8 hour spurts...one day I will write until I drop and the next few days won’t write a single word. Those are my marketing days and town volunteer days. I love to listen to classic rock and roll when I write. It takes me to new levels all the time. Silence may be golden, but it is not for me.

WR: What is a guilty pleasure of yours?

G: My biggest one is probably candy. Mainly black licorice.

WR: What inspires you?

G: I am motivated to see what the next weird thing I can come up with. The stories motivate me to do something completely out of the box.

WR: What is one of your worst pet peeves?

G: I hate texting! I would rather have needles in my eye than to have to text back and forth with someone. If it important enough then call me.

WR: Describe what a perfect day would be for you.

G: I would have three cups of coffee with a large omelet for breakfast. Take my laptop and sit by the ocean writing my next novel.

WR: If you could bring any fictional character to life, yours or anyone else’s, who would you pick?

G: I would have to say that I would bring Sherlock Holmes to life to help me find my darn shoes. HAHAHA. No seriously there are so many great characters out there I couldn’t choose one.

WR: If you could shape-shift, what animal would you turn into and why?

G: I would become a sea clam and live for 400 years.

WR: Where can we find you and your work around the web?

G: The best place to find all my books is on my website www.grholton.com or at www.worldcastlepublishing.com.

  4. I have read GR Holton and I'm convinced he will go down as of the best in his genre. His ability to write long stretches makes him prolific and his stories are exciting with characters moral and just. Ten years from now we'll see GR Holton everywhere so he better keep writing because his gift is special and his talent unique. He is also an amazing marketer that clearly is ready to make it to the next level and many more regardless friction along the way because his personal character from meeting him is strong, his desire powerful; his work sells because he writes from the heart!
